Sika Deer Hunting in New York – A Rare Opportunity Captured on Film

In the mid-1940s, a hunting club introduced Japanese sika deer to New York, releasing them onto a sprawling 1,500-acre property filled with rivers, swamps, and woodlands. When the club dissolved decades later, the land transitioned into parkland, and the sika thrived—expanding beyond the park and creating incredible hunting opportunities for those lucky enough to access the area.

For years, my family and I have had the privilege of hunting private land near the park, harvesting several incredible stags along the way. But one goal has always been at the top of my list: capturing a sika stag hunt on film.

That moment finally happened.

In this hunt, I put the Ti 2.0 to the test on one of these elusive deer—and the results speak for themselves. Watch the full video to see the shot placement, performance, and the excitement of taking down a mature sika stag in New York. You won’t want to miss this one!
